"It is worth knowing which criteria the airlines uses to judge which passengers are to be put on the list of 'overbooked' ones with no seats??!!! For which reason passengers who are 'miles and more' card holders, who make the web check in on line days prior to departure select and pay for their seats! are then told they have no seats on their flight?! and are not given any priority?! moreover the explanation of the OS representative both at check-in desk, and at the OS desk in the boarding area of Vienna airport - close to gate F2, stated that " the OS does not want to fly with empty airplanes" so they oversell double tickets to guarantee full flights". Well, they were not more then 6 or 7 'overbooked' passengers risking not to board their flight which means the OS did not risk to 'fly empty' with just 7 unoccupied seats. Moreover since I had an earned award ticket with Miles and More programme the OS representative intended that almost surely I intended to full the airline buying a cheap ticket and did not intend to fly on return flight. THIS IS DOWNRIGHT UNACCEPTABLE that the airline assumes it can treat this way its clients. Finally, as was noted at the boarding gate, non of the so-called "overbooked" passengers were of Austrian r German origin.... Just a case, ... surely. COMPLIMENTI TO AUSTRIAN AIRLINES. (If at the end we managed to board our flight it was only thanks to some volunteers who renounced for a reimbursement to fly on that given flight and offer us their seats - seats we selected before and paid for!!!!)"
